ARTIST BIO

Amanda Pennington (she/her) received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Western Kentucky University in May of 2016. Following graduation, she continued her education through attending numerous clay workshops at multiple craft schools.

Amanda is the co-founder and co-owner of Yellow Door Ceramics Studio, a community clay studio in Indianapolis, Indiana that offers One Night Classes and 8-Week Courses, as well as Membership to over 60 artists.

Amanda's pottery is inspired by mid-century modern design with her use of color theory, exposed surface, and line work.

When not at the studio, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, watching him delight in the everyday objects we've all grown accustomed to.  She also enjoys writing poetry, coloring in coloring books, organizing, and taking naps.
